Between Kristin’s latest track, Elizabeth June, and Deerhoof’s cool Fresh Born project we’ve had a whole pile of new folks visiting CASH. And there’s been a good deal of coverage as well, including a feature on the Creative Commons weblog. (Cameron Parkins was the interviewer, and you should check out his band: here. I haven’t gotten the entire story on them quite yet, but dang they’re good!)

Working on a cool Q+A feature for Deerhoof right now, along with more of the usual development. There should be a significant fattening of the Deerhoof project soon, new music and writing from Adam early next week, and more news about the general development progress.

Oh and there’s a new design for cashmusic.org up. We wanted to dress things up a bit and start really featuring all the great music that’s been finding its way to the site.

Elizabeth June

Elizabeth June

“‘Because, my friend Yeste, you are very famous and very rich, and so you should be, because you...

“‘Because, my friend Yeste, you are very famous and very rich, and so you should be, because you make wonderful <strike>weapons</strike> (things.) But you must also make them for any fool who happens along. I am poor, and no one knows me in all the world except you and Inigo, but I do not have to suffer fools.’

‘You are an artist,’ Yeste said.

‘No. Not yet. A craftsman only. But I dream to be an artist. I pray that someday, if I work with enough care, if I am very very lucky, I will make a <strike>weapon</strike> (thing) that is a work of art. Call me an artist then, and I will answer.’”

— William Goldman, The Princess Bride (mostly. The parentheses came after William Goldman.)

Hymn California, Part 3 — Music

Hymn California, Part 3 — Music

More Soon, I Promise

There’s so much to say but so little time to say it in. I’m not one to blog, speak, or generally do much of anything in public. But as we all put more time and effort into this thing we’re calling CASH Music, it’s becoming clear that a public window into our development is needed.

Enter this blog.

Right now I don’t have much to say because it’s late and I need to walk the dog. But somewhere in the 7PM range this evening I realized that I truly believe this CASH things is great, and that I’m privileged to be a part of it. Much more soon.

Your Pal,
Jesse von Doom

(Am I supposed to give a blog post a proper closing? It seems right for the first one, but I’m a little unclear on the etiquette……)
